Installation

Double click the file Phoenix.mpkg to begin installation. You need to have administrator privilege to install.
After installation, proceed to System Preferences and click on the newly installed icon Phoenix to begin the setup.


Password

Enter your own password and click Change Password.


Lock

Click the lock to make changes. You need to have administrator privilege to install.


Registration

Fill up the information at both 'Personal Particulars' and 'Machine Details'.

Under 'Activation PIN' enter the given pin (upon purchase) into the form and click Register.
Internet connection is required for registration.


Password

Change the old to new password.


Email

Set the email address(es) to receive the alert when the computer is stolen.
Advise: Sign up for a free gmail account to receive all email alerts.

Example:

User ID: paddytan
Password: ********


Recipients

To have more than 1 email address, leave a comma ',' and NO blank space between the addresses. (Maximum addresses: 03)
Add email addresses of people whom you want to alert via email (spouse, parents etc.)

Click 'Test' to receive a sample mail. iSight will be activated and data will be collected on the background for about 30 seconds.
Try not to have any other activities on the computer when program self-configures.

Twitter (Optional)
 
Enter the user name and password to have the alert message send to any pre-defined clients, SMS alert, Email etc.

To view the location of the stolen computer via twitter, copy the link and paste it on a browser.
Note: Some browser may not show the entire link.


Configuration
 
Alert Message

Set the message here to alert the receiver (via email/twitter) of the theft.
Example: 'Alert! John Tan's MacBook Pro has been stolen. Call the authorities!'


Reward

Input the reward for returning the stolen computer.


Password Timeout (seconds)

Set the countdown timer from 0 - 120 seconds.
It is highly recommended to set to the maximum at 120 seconds.


Email alerts

Set the number of times the alert message(s) is send out within the number of minutes.


Lock

Click the lock to save changes made.


That’s it!
 
You have now configured Phoenix to run with Admin Privileges. You can now restart the computer. You will notice that once you log into the system (with internet connection), a timeout window will popup asking for password.  Type the password that you set up for Phoenix.
